About Macross home-video releases
Macross home-video releases are currently occurring in the US, UK / Ireland, South Korea, and France.
AnimEigo is about to release Macross II in the Anglosphere from a successful Kickstarter.
Anime Limited released Macross Plus and Macross Zero in the US, UK / Ireland and France.
Macross 7, Macross Frontier and Macross Delta were supposed to be released by Right Stuf and Nozomi Entertainment in the US, but it was supposedly cancelled due to Right Stuf takeover by Crunchyroll. Anime Limited recovered Frontier and Delta and will release it in the US, UK / Ireland and France.
Notice that France is getting home-video because English publisher Anime Limited got a French branch they often do common releases with.

About “international” streaming on Disney+
Following the 2021 worldwide agreement and consecutive screenings of Macross movies around Asia and the Anglosphere, a global streaming of the franchise on Disney+ was announced back in March 2024, by both the service and Big West, and scheduled for the same year. The roll out effectively started a few months later in Japan (in summer if I remember correctly), progressively reached some Asian and English-speaking territories and then ended with the US release on Hulu. Subtitles are available in three languages : English, Chinese and Korean. No dub.
Surprisingly, there's some misconception about this streaming. It was supposed to be worldwide but it's definitely not. Let's be clear : Macross content is currently available on Disney+ in Japan and some Asian and English-speaking territories only. That's more or less 20 countries when the service is active in more than 100. As I said above, the last roll out was for the US back in January 2025. We don't know when, or even if Disney+ and Big West are planning to expand the availability elsewhere and add more languages.
Supposedly they might be working on it, as briefly implied by Big West international content strategy producer Takamitsu Kayahara during the last Anime Expo Macross panel back in July 2025.

Macross : from blockage to liberation
Summarizing a lot, but I guess you're here as a fan of the Macross franchise. If you're a fan, you know. You know how it was popular in the west back in the 90's, because of Robotech and we can't deny it, because of Macross DYRL and Macross Plus, and maybe a little bit Macross II too. Macross's popularity was growing, until it got blocked outside Japan during 2 decades, because of a certain company behind Robotech. For more details, you can check on the web, a lot of places are talking about it and that's not my point to explain it here.
Things were miraculously settled around 2020/2021, after a long battle between Big West (Japanese rights owner of Macross) and Harmony Gold (American rights owner of Robotech, let's name them) to claim the Macross IP in Europe (seems that it was more easier to claim it there than in the US). A battle that Harmony Gold was losing since they had no activity and therefore no valid reason to justify keeping the Macross IP from the original rights owner in Europe.

| Worldwide Macross Symbol Mark |
The Macross worldwide agreement was proclaimed in April 2021. It basically allows Harmony Gold to release a never coming Robotech movie in Japan while Big West could release the Macross franchise worldwide, minus the original SDF series and DYRL movie. So theoretically everything from SDF Macross Flashback 2012 to Macross Delta Zettai Live.
